We're very excited about the workshops at this year's summit. Below is a list of the 9 workshops with some information about themes and content to help you make your choices. We've also made indicated the relevant SDGs for each workshop.
On the day you'll be doing 2 different workshops and on the form, we're asking for 3 choices from you - this helps us with planning and logistics. We'll be doing our very best to make sure you get to do 2 of the 3 workshops you've chosen.

>> Fast Fashion Branding: the story behind the brands - Erin McCanny (Power of 10 Ambassador)
Find out the real stories behind the biggest fashion brands. Discover their approach to sustainable fashion – or not! This will help you make informed choices and share their stories with others.
Every school is invited to bring an upcycled new outfit created from preloved clothes and take part in a fashion show to close the summit with a ‘fashion statement for 2025!’

Why is it important to for Climate Change?
Here is an opportunity to learn more and take action.
Students will make:
• wildflower / native flower seed pots
• bug houses made from recycled materials
• bird feeders
Please bring any card tubes and clean tetra packs (eg juice containers) you have collected!

Join us to explore the amazing power of wind! In this informative and interactive session, we’ll learn how wind energy as a renewable energy source can help fight against climate change.
We will discover how we design turbines and explore the future of wind energy and the opportunities it creates.

In this music workshop, children will explore language and create their own songs or chants related to the sounds of nature.
>> Cumbria Youth Climate Activists: Have Your Say! - Art Gene
Paint a punchy phrase onto a placard - individual, handmade wooden signs for all participants. Expert guidance from local professional artists will help you make the most of what you want to say. Create a collective impact on the day and, if you like, take your sign home at the end.

Explore Carbon Footprints and their link to climate change with Geoff from CDEC - be prepared to play and talk!
>> Repair Workshop: invisible mending - Caroline Thompson (Ulverston Repair)
If you're coming to this workshop, bring clothes, teddies etc.. to repair and get ready to learn some new skills!

Understanding your spheres of influence and how to use your voice for positive change. Learn about how your personal actions can have a wider reaching impact and how to create your own campaigns on topics you're passionate about.
>> Make Your Mark: Act Local, Think Global - Hester Harrington (Creative Practitioner) and Pippa Martin (Westmorland & Furness Libraries Outreach Officer)
Using the power of illustration and graphic art the workshop to reflect and create an impactful artwork. Using the global language of illustration, mark making and zentangle drawing to make you own creative personal response to: 'Act Local, Think Global', creating a collective climate mural.
